Marine Geospatial Ecology Lab

Esri Honors MGEL’s Work

At the 2012 Esri International User Conference, Esri honored the Duke Marine Geospatial Ecology Lab (MGEL) with a Special Achievement in GIS Award, in recognition of MGEL’s contributions to marine science and its “outstanding work with GIS technology”. MGEL Director Pat Halpin and members Ben Best and Jason Roberts attended the conference and received the award on behalf of the lab.

We also gave several presentations and manned a booth at Esri’s Environmental Showcase, at their invitation. Thanks to Ben Donnelly (MGEL) and Stefanie Tieman (Esri) for designing a great booth for us and to Dan Dunn and Ari Friedlaender for contributing photos.
